Anti Static Flooring Systems:
- Epoxy
- ESD
- Conductive
Electrical charges can have catastrophic consequences in static sensitive environments. Static control flooring can be defined as a flooring system that can drain and/or dissipate static charges by ground personnel, equipment or other objects contacting the floor surface or that controls the generation and accumulation of static charges.
The resistance to the movement of electrons across the material’s surfaces defines anti static floor into the following two categories:
Conductive and Static Dissipative (ESD Flooring). Conductive Flooring has a resistance of 2.5 x 104 - 106 ohms per 3ft. It can drain static charge dissipating a 5,000 – volt charge to zero in 0.05 seconds.
Static Dissipative Flooring (ESD Flooring) has a resistance of 106 - 109 ohms per 3 ft. It adds no static electricity to the environment and drains off a 5,000 – volt to zero in less than 0.2 seconds.
That’s why Surface Solutions offers anti static floor systems, ESD flooring systems, and conductive flooring systems from the leading industrial flooring suppliers, including BASF, Dur-A-Flex, and Sherwin Williams that prevent static charges from causing catastrophic consequences.
