Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL), provider of retail electric service to more than 480,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Indianapolis and central Indiana, is committed to meeting the community’s growing power needs as well as the company’s operational excellence. That’s why IPL calls upon Surface Solutions to make improvements to one of their storage facilities.

IPL repurposes an old, dusty building to store all equipment and spare parts. The 28,000 square feet of bare concrete floor is heavily pitted, with areas of exposed aggregate. Most notably, the space is very difficult to keep clean.

The specialists at Surface Solutions use grinding to prepare the bare concrete for a Two Coat Epoxy System application in medium gray with prefill. Epoxy coatings are ideal for floors in warehouses and storage facilities because they create a seamless, non-porous surface that can easily be wiped free of dirt, dust and debris while having the ability to withstand high-temperature wash-downs to keep it clean.
